This working group will take actions to help build safe and connected communities that include:
Promoting investment in communities and revitalization programs
Advocating for doula and community health worker training and reimbursement
Supporting and implementing shared green space in communities and community gardens
Advocating for law enforcement reform including increased mental health supports and de-escalation training
Identifying and implementing technology solutions to connect pregnant and postpartum people through shared online supportive communities

The Innovation Hub is an online platform that provides maternal and child health (MCH) professionals with tools and resources to explore, replicate and share successful and effective practices from the MCH field. It is home to the MCH Innovations Database, a searchable repository of “what’s working” in the field that improves the health and well-being of MCH populations.
Every family can have the best possible start. But today, too many moms and babies are dying or experiencing serious health complications related to childbirth—and far too many are moms and babies of color. Only by working together can we confront inequities and ensure the health and wellbeing of every family.
